For the past 12 weeks I’ve been a busy bee planning the Christening of Henry Burlington & Evelyn Rose Dougall, born 30 January 2013 at 37 weeks. After a long wait, these two little angels were born to my wonderful sister Natalie & brother-in-law Ross and I couldn’t be more delighted!
On 9 June 2013, these adorable twins will be christened at the 15th Century Great Barford Church before celebrating with friends and family at the stunning Woburn Sculpture Gallery.
Now with just a few weeks to go I wanted to share some of the exciting plans with you all & give thanks to some truly fabulous companies who have generously helped me along the way. The Christening is in support of the wonderful charity, Brain Tumour Research and we want to raise as many funds as possible on this day.
Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killers of UK children and research into brain tumours is woefully underfunded. In April this year, Natalie & Ross’ beautiful flower girl Lia left us to be with the angels in heaven. We are determined to make this event a massive success in her memory & have started a justgiving page in her honour.
This week we are meeting with Rebecca from Vintage Teas & RSVP’s, one of the leading Vintage China Hire and Styling Companies in the UK. Rebecca’s work is simply stunning & I’m thrilled that she will be styling the Sculpture Gallery for us. The Sculpture Gallery is immaculately presented in itself, but with the introduction of a few floral designs & vintage touches it’ll be transformed into a wonderland Beatrix Potter would be enviable of!
The generosity doesn't end there! The lovely Tania De La Porte from Chocolate Lace has kindly donated a bespoke christening cake in support of Brain Tumour Research and I am totally excited about collecting it! I’ll be sure to post photos as soon as possible.
Henry & Evelyn will be wearing custom made Christening gowns from Angels and Fishes, and they are just adorable. Thank you to Angela Osborn for your expertise. Photography will also be taken throughout the day by Tara Gillen, an experienced photographer who has had the pleasure of photographing the babies already!
I’m honoured to be planning such a special event, celebrating new life whilst raising awareness & funds for The Brain Tumour Research in memory of Lia Veal. We are simply overwhelmed by the immense support we have received while planning this Charity Christening & couldn’t be more grateful to the suppliers helping & donating their services. Big love & hugs to you all! x
