The Christening day has finally arrived and the anticipation & excitement can be felt through the walls of Ross & Natalie Dougall’s family home! The babies have been fed & changed whilst the photographer buzzes round happily snapping the start of this special day for all.
Oblivious to the day ahead, Henry Burlington & Evelyn Rose innocently pose in their stunning bespoke gowns designed & created by the talented Angels & Fishes; a true picture of tranquility & happiness.
Cars filled the streets as over 150 friends & family members made their way to the beautiful Great Barford Church to watch the twins start their journey in the Christian faith. With the declarations and promises made, and Henry & Evelyn blessed and cleansed in Holy Water, the guests slowly filter out the church past the family before making their way to the Woburn Sculpture Gallery for the days Celebrations.
The grounds and gardens surrounding Woburn Abbey were a vision of English summer, with guests sipping on Bucks Fizz in the glorious sunshine whilst the small children ran round the colourful flower beds outside the Sculpture Gallery.
The Sculpture Gallery was decorated and styled by the talented Rebecca from Vintage Tea’s & RSVPs. All fourteen tables were uniquely designed by Rebecca & incorporated summer flowers & vases, sweet jars, vintage toys & tales from Beatrix Potter.
Guests enjoyed a cold buffet selection before speeches were made & the elegant cake was cut and prepared for all to enjoy. (Yes, it tasted as good as it looks!)
Natalie & Ross were delighted with the Christening & are extremely grateful to everyone that attended, supported & donated to the Brain Tumour Research. This was a special day for the twins and the family & in memory of Lia Veal; a beautiful angel who is sorely missed.
The kindness & generosity of others never ceases to amaze me and we have raised an outstanding amount of approx £3,000 (with gift aid) for the Brain Tumour Research Trust. Donations were made on the day & online through the just giving page which you can see here. This amazing total exceeded our expectations & would never have been possible without the help and support of family & friends and all the suppliers we worked with.
Our heartfelt Thanks & gratitude go to Reverend Margaret Marshall of Great Barford Church for the Service, The Stationery Box for all Event Stationery, Tara Gillen for the event Photography (featured on this post), Angels & Fishes for the lovely gowns & accessories, Tania from Chocolate Lace for the stunning Christening Cake & Cake Pops, Rebecca from Vintage Teas & RSVPs for the beautiful event styling & Woburn Sculpture Gallery for hosting & catering the event. Finally thank you to all the guests for attending & to everyone who donated to the Brain Tumour Research.
