Now we're settled nicely into 2017 I thought I'd share some business news with you and explain a little more about my recent rebrand, new website and industry awards.
Although I loved my old website, name and logo, I felt after 4 years in the Wedding industry that it was time for a refresh to reflect the changes in my business and my personal life. I know that since I set up my business I have had some huge changes both good and bad and I have developed as a Wedding Planner and as a person. I've become a mum to my gorgeous little A, we've moved to a completely new area, and my business has flourished and grown at the same time.
As you know, I've rebranded to become Amulet Weddings & Events and I love my new name and knew it was the right fit for me. I am a spiritual person at heart and this is something embedded in my family history too. I'm a believer of karma & good fortune, a nature lover, fairy tale & folklore believer & user of alternative therapies. The Amulet is an object that has the powers to bring good fortune and charm and this epitomises what I aim to bring to my couples.
I won't bore you with the technical details of my new website, but I wanted to create something that was fresh, vibrant, easy to navigate and visually enticing. Each section of my website can be easily located either through the top navigation bar or by clicking on the images on the home page. Cutting down my copy, I've made each page quick and easy to read and put a selection of my favourite images in the portfolio. I've also made all my past blogs quick to find and read.
With Destination Weddings & Events an area I'm working more in, both for couples and corporate clients, I wanted my website to reflect this too. I'll be promoting my specialised areas further this year, with Slovenia, Lapland, Iceland and Italy my main focus.
With the new website complete, new business cards and flyers printed I was keen to be involved in some Wedding Industry awards before 2016 ended!
Four Counties Wedding Awards - Previously living on the Bedfordshire border and regularly back to visit family & friends I was delighted to be shortlisted in the Wedding Planner category for the Four Counties Wedding Awards, particularly as my lovely couple Rachel & Josh married last year in Turvey, Bedford. Though we didn't win we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Awards Ceremony and met some wonderful new suppliers.
The Wedding Industry Awards - The big one! I was absolutely thrilled to be nominated in these awards this year & even happier to discover I was a Regional Finalist in the Independent Wedding Planner category for the East Midlands. Earlier this month I also learnt that I was a National Finalist in the Best Industry Website category too, being selected from over 400 entrants.
Being a part of both of these awards and receiving nominations and votes from my clients was extremely humbling and reassuring! I feel so lucky getting to do what I love every day, whilst working from home and juggling family life so it's a honour to be nominated and praised for it. So a huge thank you goes to my lovely couples for their kind words & trust.
We've had a really busy January, attending a local beauticians launch evening, working on some venue packages and exhibiting at the Normanton Church Wedding Open Day in Rutland. I will share more details on all of these very soon!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend x
